The Isla Bonita Love Festival, managed by the public company Sodepal of the Cabildo de La Palma, now has its own television channel. Thanks to LOVE TV all the events that will take place from 23 to 27 July in La Palma can be followed live from anywhere in the world, in addition to the exclusive content created to give voice and visibility to the diversity of gender identities and expressions; and the defence of the rights of the LGTBIQ+ collective. LOVE TV, the television of diversity and freedom, is a ‘loudspeaker’ that will help to carry the message of the social agenda of the Isla Bonita Love Festival further; and will delve into the testimonies of experts, activists and members of the LGTBIQ+ collective who will share their experiences and knowledge, addressing essential issues for the defence of social rights.
This will be the LOVE TV broadcast: social agenda and exclusive interviews.
The broadcast can be followed on the Isla Bonita Love Festival Youtube channel. It will begin on the afternoon of Tuesday 23 July, where the channel will delve into exclusive content with interviews with the CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, and Tamara Peña, president of Violetas LGTBI+ La Palma. Afterwards, the journalist Micaela García will offer a summary of the event that kicks off this agenda: the round table ‘Realidades insulares’, a diagnosis of the situation of the LGTBIQ+ collective on La Palma: advances, needs and commitments.
The programme will continue at 16:30 in the afternoon with the Literary Encounter, an event that will feature three outstanding and internationally, nationally and regionally recognised voices, such as Carla Antonelli, Bob Pop and Tazarte. Afterwards, at 18:30h you can follow live the Conference for the Prevention of Hate Crimes against the LGBTIQ+ Collective, given by the Civil Guard. At 21:00h, the stage will be the Puerto de Tazacorte, where the lighting of the LGTBIQ+ flag and the performance of Agoney will take place.
On Wednesday, July 24th, at 9:30h, the awards ceremony of the Isla Bonita Love Festival Shop Window Competition will take place. In the afternoon, the meetings with Azúcar Moreno (17:00h) and Laura Terciado (19:00h) will take place in the Casa de la Cultura of Los Llanos de Aridane. As special content, LOVE TV will also offer an intimate interview with Carla Antonelli. Born in Güímar, she became the first transgender person to hold a public office in Spain and since her beginnings she has been an important activist for the rights of the collective. She is currently a senator in the Spanish Parliament.
LOVE TV will broadcast live on Thursday from the Casa de la Cultura in Los Llanos de Aridane (12:00h) one of the most popular social events of the Isla Bonita Love Festival: the Political and Social Convention for a Fairer and More Equal Society, which this year will focus on the reality of diverse families. In addition, experts and representatives of the LGTBIQ+ collective will discuss the needs of this collective in La Palma in a special talk show for LOVE TV. Finally, at 21:30h from El Paso, the inauguration of the Plaza del Orgullo will be broadcasted live, with the performance of Azúcar Moreno and Drag Sethlas. Plaza Francisca de Gazmira.
The social agenda ends on Friday 26th July and will feature another of the ‘highlights’ of the Isla Bonita Love Festival: the Jornadas jurídicas: Retos para la Justicia en Materia de Igualdad, with the collaboration of the Asociación de Profesionales de La Palma. They will be broadcast live from the Casa de la Cultura in Los Llanos de Aridane (12:00h) and will delve into Family Law, which regulates family relationships and is essential for everyday life, affecting marriage, divorce, child custody and the protection of minors.
That same day LOVE TV will delve deeper into the reality of LGTBIQ+ families with the premiere of a documentary starring a female couple and their child.
The broadcast will continue at 19h with the Encounter with Topacio Fresh and The Cultural Magazine, in the Casa de la Cultura; to end the day with Gastro & Love, with the participation of Isla Bonita Moda, in the Plaza de España in Los Llanos de Aridane.
The Isla Bonita Love Festival will have its ‘final touch’ on Saturday 27th July with the macro-concert in Puerto de Tazacorte, which will feature a luxury line-up of Ricky Martin, Martin Garrix, Chanel, K!ngdom, Ptazeta, St Pedro and the JD producer Orribo from La Palma.
LOVE TV will connect live from 16h in the afternoon, one hour before the doors open, to show the best of a unique musical event and reference in the Canary Islands and Spain; with outstanding interviews from the special set installed backstage and the retransmission of the latest news from the venue through the renowned journalist and reporter Germán González.
