Ferchos and Macaca Radiata to perform at Love Festival concert after winning talent contest

The original singer and band from La Palma will share the stage with the likes of Ricky Martin and Martin Garrix at the musical finale of this year’s Love Festival.

The singer Ferchos and the band Macaca Radiata will take part in the concert of the Love Festival 2024, joining the already announced line-up with artists such as Ricky Martin, Martin Garrix, Chanel, Ptazeta, St Pedro, Orribo and Kingdom next Saturday, 27 July, from 18:00 hours, in Puerto de Tazacorte.

Ferchos and Macaca Radiata have won the talent contest of the new edition of the Love Festival, ‘an initiative that seeks to give visibility and support to local talent by promoting artists from the island and giving them the opportunity to share the stage with the other singers in the concert line-up, which has become a reference point in the cultural agenda of La Palma and the Canary Islands’, says Miriam Perestelo, CEO of Sodepal.

The organisers of the event invite those who attend the concert to enjoy the talent from La Palma, who will take the stage at 18:00 hours, to liven up the closing of the Social Agenda of the Isla Bonita Love Festival, which has been running since 23 July with various actions that continue to promote freedom and diversity.

Ferchos

Ferchos is the collection of artistic facets of Fernando Pérez, a native of Todoque. In this project he allows himself to put aside his profession as a computer engineer to make ‘soft music for shy kids’, as he himself puts it, exploring music as another language with which to describe the world and what it evokes in order to better understand and cope with life.

In 2023 he released his first EP, ‘Es lo que hay, y será lo que hubo’, a journey through the differences between resignation (as an inevitable regret) and acceptance (as a next stage of peace) through songs composed since the pandemic, tested in open mikes in Madrid where he lived, and recorded with Gabriel Vidanauta, producer and presenter of the El Calvario mike.

This year he returns to his island to reconnect with his identity, his family and to assimilate his seven years abroad, in three countries and two different continents, with the desire to continue creating.

Macaca Radiata

Macaca Radiata is a band founded in 2022 by pianist Sonia Martell (1997) and guitarist and vocalist Jorge Pérez (1998), both from La Palma but who have lived for years in Madrid.

Since their beginning they have had a frenetic presence both in the Canarian and Madrid music scene, standing out for their own compositions and covering a wide spectrum of styles ranging from pop, rock, jazz, blues or classic New Age.

In 2024 they released their first album Aún nos queda tiempo, produced by the producer Leandro Sabino from Buenos Aires, with the collaboration of musicians such as Andrés Ollari (trumpet player of Fito Páez), Daniel Acebes (cellist of C-Tangana or Antonio Carmona) or Maia Prieto (violinist of Xoel López) among others.
